Francis Jones has worked in television and radio for over thirty years. In this time he has written over fifty comedy radio dramas, and has made documentaries across the genres of News & Current Affairs, History, Popular Culture, Music, the Arts, Politics and Sport, both for regional and network output.
His latest radio documentary, The Aberdovey X-Troopers, tells the story of a group of Jewish refugees who were relocated and trained in Wales to take the fight to the Nazis during the Second World War. The programme was broadcast to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27th and it can currently be found on the BBC Sounds app.
Francis also produces and engineers the comedy podcast series Brain Cigar, written by and starring Peter Baynham (I’m Alan Partridge, The Day Today, and Arthur Christmas) and Jez Simmonds (Number One in Heaven, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Up Late, Crash!)
